FAQ

Q. What is the Kanchi 100?

Kanchi 100 is an initiative which is calling on 100 Irish business leaders to commit to making their businesses more inclusive for people with disabilities.

We are asking companies to commit to making one single small (or big) change in their businesses which will make them tangibly more inclusive for people with disabilities. These people could be employees, customers or business partners.

The list of the 100 qualifying companies and their registered commitments will be published in Kanchi’s World Disability Awareness Day publication on December, 3rd.

Q: Do you have to be a Kanchi Network Member to participate in this initiative?

No, Kanchi 100 is all inclusive and open to all organisations whether they are members of Kanchi Network or not. Organisations of any size, type or sector are invited to participate.

Q: How do I apply and what is the deadline?

Organisations will be asked to complete a registration form for consideration available on the Kanchi Network website.. The form needs to be completed and submitted by 31st August 2012.

Q: How will the participating businesses be recognised?

The list of the 100 qualifying companies and their registered commitments will be published in Kanchi’s World Disability Awareness Day Publication to coincide with World Disability Awareness Day on 3rd December 2012.

Q: Who is the main point of contact for this initiative?

Your main point of contact is Kanchi Network manager Nikki Hegarty . She can be reached via email [email protected] or via phone +353 (0) 1 634 0018.

Q: Do you have examples of changes we can make?

All participating businesses will be provided with a list of examples of changes businesses can make to make their business tangibly more inclusive for people with disabilities. Please note this list of examples is not exhaustive and we welcome businesses suggesting their own actions separate to these.

Q: Do the changes we can make only apply to employees of our business?

Kanchi 100 is all inclusive, the changes can apply to employees, customers or business partners.

Q: When do the changes have to be implemented by?

The deadline for the implementation of the change(s) made in your business is 26th April 2013. However we would encourage organisations to implement changes within the shortest time-frame possible based on their own resources and business needs. Our publication in December will include both the full list of Kanchi 100 commitments and a number of case studies on organisations that have already successfully implemented changes into their organisations.
